Richmond Bridge
The sandstone arches of the Richmond Bridge, set against the hills of the Coal River Valley, have straddled Tasmania's Coal River since their completion in 1825. Built by convict labour in its picturesque setting and framing views of one of Richmond township's historic churches, the Richmond Bridge has long inspired artists, tourists and lovers of beautiful places almost since it was completed.
Old Hobart Town:
located in Richmond just 15 minutes from Sorell is a model of Hobart in 1820. Built from original plans, it is an accurate look at life in Tasmania's capital city during this era.
This unique Historical Model Village is a result of three years full time work by John and Andrew Quick who are the owner operators. The model itself has been largely reconstructed from original plans of the era thus depicting Hobart as it was in the 1820's.
Tasmania Golf Club
Scenic Tasmania Golf Club is Tasmania's premier course and was rated in Australia's top 50 courses in latest "Golf Digest" rankings.
Situated on a point, Tasmania is a picturesque course with river views from many holes. Undulating fairways, with second shots to contoured greens, provide a course capable of testing serious players while being enjoyable for the social player or beginner.
Waterview Reserve
at Sorell. This reserve is on the old Sorell tip site, and was once renown for high tide wader sightings. Sadly, these days there are few waders, their place taken by hundreds of gulls and Forest Ravens. Despite that, I have noted one saving grace on my infrequent visits, raptors, and my Sunday visit was no exception.
Salamanca Market
Tasmanmia's most famous market is on every Saturday and is just 20 minutes drive from Sorell , The market starts at 9.30 am and finnishes about 3pm.

Maria Island

Bellerive Oval
The headquarters of Tasmanian cricket relocated from the old TCA ground on Hobart's Queen's Domain to the scenic Bellerive Oval on the eastern shore of the Derwent River in 1987. The former community-based sports field has been progressively upgraded since with a major redevelopment completed during 2000-02. The venue consists of three principal stands - the Southern Stand (capacity 5800) and the Members and Players Pavilions.
Redbanks
offers a range of outdoor activities that are not available on the one site anywhere else in Tasmania, and which give people an opportunity to try these sports in a safe and natural environment including Trout fishing, Clay Target Shooting, Archery and Aqua Golf.
Redbanks is in the South East of Tasmania, just 15 minutes from Sorell
Eaglehawk Neck
is an uncommonly beautiful place. The isthmus is flanked by the calm waters of Norfolk Bay on one side and Pirates Bay opening onto the Tasman Sea on the other. The quiet village is the gateway to the many attractions of the Tasman Peninsula, including Port Arthur Historic Site, dramatic sea cliffs, white sandy beaches and some of the best surf in the State.
